LEDs for dental motors and turbine couplings

With a few exceptions, you can simply replace your xenon high pressure lamps with an LED. If you are unsure, please contact us directly.

The advantages of LEDs:

• A brighter light compared to standard high pressure lamps in the treatment area
• Less heat development
• Daylight-like colors for a more natural appearance
• Increased lighting life

LED lamps for dental instruments are characterized by a longer service life and lower self-heating when used at the correct voltage. It is said that an LED is up to 15 times more durable than conventional high-pressure lamps due to its mechanical robustness and lower heating, among other things. The light from the LED is brighter and the treatment area is illuminated in realistic colors. LEDs are sustainable due to their lower energy requirements and longer service life. As a rule, there are high-quality third-party LED lamps for the turbine couplings and micromotors from Kavo ®, Sirona ®, BienAir ®, W&H ®, NSK ®, MK-dent ® and BA international ®. The LEDs are offered in 2 qualities: standard and premium.
Converting to LED is often possible without any problems. Since LEDs are not constructed like high-pressure lamps and do not work with the same voltage, they may not always light up immediately. In this case, it is often advisable to turn the LED around (some manufacturers therefore offer 2 different LED variants).

• Recommended voltage: 3.5V DC / ~70mA
• Current: max. 120mA
• Brightness: 22,000mcd (3.5V)
• Color temperature: 4,500K
• Service life: > 2000 hours
• Light angle: 20° +/-5° tolerance
• Temperature: 125°C
• Storage temperature: -40°C – 125°C
