Spare parts for your micromotors and your clutches.
Whether carbon brushes, motor armatures, motor bearings or seals, here you will find the common spare parts for your dental motor or turbine coupling.
If the spare part you are looking for is not available, please feel free to contact us.
Micromotors as drives for handpieces and contra-angles
Rotating instruments such as handpieces and contra-angles are powered by dental motors. The micromotor is electrically powered and is the "driving force". The micromotor is located between the hose and the contra-angle.
A micromotor usually has an output of around 40,000 rpm. The speed transmitted is determined by the gear ratio of the instrument used. The different gear ratios can be recognized by the colored rings (red, blue, green). For example, a red contra-angle with a gear ratio of 1:5 would reach 200,000 rpm, a blue contra-angle with a gear ratio of 1:1 would reach 40,000 rpm, a green contra-angle with a gear ratio of 5.4:1 would have 7400 rpm and a double green contra-angle with a gear ratio of 14.8:1 would reach 270 rpm.
Engines are real workhorses, but over time the motor brushes, the motor armature or the ball bearings wear out and need to be replaced.
The O-rings on the connection also harden or tear, causing the motor to leak.
If the lamp on a light engine no longer lights up, it can be replaced by a high-pressure lamp or an LED.
Electric micromotors
Conventional electric motors for tooth preparation differ little from their larger counterparts in all areas of industry in terms of technology. In addition to their compact design, micromotors, like turbines, stand out due to their particularly high speeds. The advantage of micromotors is that they are somewhat quieter than turbines. They work with a much higher torque, which is why they are preferred in areas where powerful work is required. The settings on the unit and the use of angle pieces with different gear ratios result in numerous speed options with the micromotor.
Couplings for maintenance and configuration e.g. dental turbines, air motors or powder jet mobile
Couplings ensure a secure but quickly detachable connection between the individual components of a dental device. The solutions available today can be assembled and modified in a single movement. Most suppliers no longer require special tools.Maintain your equipment with Dentrotec
We at Dentrotec have specialized in supplying dental practices with high-quality spare parts. Among other things, we offer the following spare parts and wear parts, which can be used for self-repair at any time:Regenerating and re-storing motor armatures is a major challenge for laypeople. Aside from the lack of machines and special tools, experience is also necessary. Here, it is advisable to use new, pre-stored motor armatures. The motor armature is the rotating inner part of an electric motor. It is also called a "rotor". We stock armatures for the motors of the most common manufacturers of dental motors. Carbon brushes are used in electric motors with brush drives. They conduct the electrical current from the rigid conductor to the rotating armature. Carbon brushes are genuine wear parts that only have a limited lifespan due to wear. Replacing them is usually easy and can be done in just a few steps. Micromotors are long-lasting tools. They contain wear parts such as armatures, bearings, carbon brushes and housings. With appropriate care and maintenance, they last for many years. Even if the motor no longer runs at all, it can usually be easily restored with a general overhaul. Turbine couplings are the interfaces between the turbine, air motor or prophylactic mobile and hose. Our branded products impress with their high stability and reliability.
Tips for maintaining dental equipment
We recommend servicing the turbine couplings, turbines and micromotors at set intervals. Due to the high rotation speed, the time between audible and tangible malfunction and subsequent defects can be very short. If the wearing parts of the couplings are replaced within the replacement intervals, they can usually be maintained for a long time. In addition, a preventive replacement of the components ensures that the dental practice is operational. Nothing would be more annoying than if a treatment had to be interrupted because of a defective instrument. With the high-quality but low-cost products from Dentrotec, you are always on the safe side.
Maintaining dental technology
Regular wiping is sufficient to disinfect a motor. For example, with a Kavo motor, you remove the sleeve and clean the metal surface of the motor and the inside of the sleeve with a paper towel and a little alcohol solution. It is important to ensure that everything is thoroughly dried before reassembling the parts. The mechanical stress on the turbine coupling's O-rings causes them to wear out quickly. These should be replaced regularly to avoid leaks. It should be noted that a Kavo turbine coupling has different O-rings than a Sirona, NSK or W&H coupling.
