Ball bearings for dental technology
15 products
A laboratory handpiece bearing must withstand a variety of demanding conditions and is a key component for the reliability of the entire device.
These bearings are subjected to constant speeds of up to 50,000 rpm, experience constant vibrations, must withstand extreme temperatures and various cleaning chemicals, and be protected against the ingress of contaminants.
In order to meet these high demands, we only use bearings that impress with their outstanding quality and durability.
How do you know if the bearing is defective?
A typical sign of bearing failure in laboratory handpieces is increased noise or uneven running of the handpiece. This is also manifested by increased power consumption and can often be remedied by replacing the bearings.
How do ball bearings differ?
Angular contact ball bearings are ideal for applications that require high load-bearing capacity against combined radial and axial loads. Deep groove ball bearings, on the other hand, are widely used due to their versatility and ability to handle high speeds with low noise and vibration levels.
Ball cages play an important role in keeping the balls evenly distributed, thereby increasing the efficiency of the bearing. Selecting the right cage material and design is critical to the performance of the bearing.
Ceramic ball bearings offer advantages such as reduced wear and are ideal in humid or corrosive environments such as the dental field, while steel ball bearings are often preferred due to their load capacity and speed capability.
Why do the ball bearings break?
Laboratory handpiece bearings are wear parts and can become damaged over time or due to accidental damage. As long as the motor itself is still in good condition, it is often worthwhile to replace just the bearings rather than changing the entire handpiece.
When does it make sense to just replace the bearing instead of replacing the entire anchor?
As long as the copper collector is still in good condition and offers sufficient support, it is possible to recondition it and replace the bearings.
